| Senior Project
Washington Christian Academy provides the opportunity for seniors to put their faith and education into action through a ten-day project in the business community. Our seniors have embraced this opportunity to experience various careers and think through the challenges and benefits associated with each from a Christian perspective.
The Senior Project is a chance for seniors to reflect upon and experience how their Reformed Christian worldview as developed in the Senior Thesis might be lived out in a worksite. The time will prepare seniors for the transition from the high school learning environment to the greater responsibility and self-discipline experienced in college and employment. An on-site mentor must be available for daily direction, informal discussions and a formal interview as the student explores the intersection of faith and vocation. Our seniors have worked in many settings such as law firms; National Institutes of Health labs; Walter Reed, Georgetown and Howard University hospitals, engineering, communications, theatre, etc. The goal of the project is to work out theological issues discussed in the Senior Thesis and to integrate how one approaches everyday tasks in the workplace with the Christian world and life understanding.
