This is a beginner’s course in typing. Students will learn the proper typing skills (e.g., home row, fingering, posture, proofreading) for proper typing. The speed and accuracy of each individual student will be used to measure the student’s progress. The class uses the Micro-Type computer program to assist them in learning, tracking the student’s progress and systematically leading them through lessons to teach the skills, strategies and knowledge for proficient keyboarding. Students will be expected to memorize the computer keyboard and quizzed on this throughout the year.
