The Lower School Experience Overview

In our Lower School, children begin to acquire the academic and social skills and tools that will lay a firm foundation for success in the higher grades. Through a curriculum rich in content and variety, they secure a steadily increasing body of knowledge in the core subjects (Language Arts, History, Science, Mathematics, and Bible), knowledge building upon knowledge year by year in a coherent, well-structured sequence. Classes in art, music, library, and physical education further enrich the students’ experience. They also learn to live in a social environment where they begin to balance their own needs and desires with those of others, where they are called to share, to consider the feelings of classmates, and to be supportive of their peers. Most importantly, they begin to experience the joy and wonder of discovering their Father’s world. They are taught to apply Biblical truths to all their subjects and trained to Biblical standards for behavior.
