Student Shadowing

We appreciate your interest in Washington Christian Academy (WCA) and we look forward to the opportunity to have your son or daughter spend a day here with one of our many fine students. We strongly recommend scheduling a shadow visit to allow your child to get a first hand glimpse into the overall program and to experience the reverent, adventurous, and academically serious culture that exists within the WCA community.

Who is eligible to take a shadow visit?

WCA provides shadow visits to prospective students who will be entering the 6th grade or above for the upcoming school year.

When can I schedule a shadow visit?

All families who are interested in having their child take a shadow visit will need to make arrangements through the Admission Department at least one week in advance of the visit.

When and where will the shadow visit begin?

All students with a scheduled shadow visit will report to the admission office which is inside the front door to the left at 7:45am.

What should my child wear for the shadow visit?

We encourage all shadowing students to dress in comfortable, modest attire. We suggest wearing a polo shirt with navy or khaki pants and tennis shoes.

What is included in the shadow visit?

Each shadowing student will be accompanied by a WCA student of the same gender from the grade they are applying for. They will follow that students schedule for the first three blocks of the school day. This will include two core subjects, one elective, and the lunch period. WCA has an outstanding full serve hot meal program and your child’s lunch is included in the visit. If your child has any food allergies or dietary concerns please make sure to clearly advise the Admission Department when you schedule the shadow visit and we will be sure to address them during the visit.

When does the shadow visit end?

The standard shadow visit ends at 1:10pm. Parents or guardians are asked to arrive at the Admission office at 1:00pm for pick up. If your child would like to visit for the entire school day, dismissal is at 2:46pm, please request this with the Admission office at the time of scheduling and if possible they will make those arrangements.

If you would like to schedule a shadow visit for your child please contact our Admission Director and he will be glad to assist you in setting that up.
