An Environment that Supports Adventure

Being adventurous for us at WCA means many things - including the pursuit of new challenges and opportunities. Particularly during the school age years, children are concerned about the way their peers think about them. We encourage an environment where students are supportive and encouraging of one another in ways that set kids free to try new things, even if they aren't already accomplished.

Through the years we've seen students become involved in athletics, even though they don't have years of experience.  Each of our Middle and High School theater productions feature students who are stepping foot on a stage for the first time.  And in classrooms, the simple gesture of raising a hand to ask a question or venturing to answer a teacher's question are expressions of academic risk and adventure which we encourage and our students support.
