Our Educational Approach

Our program is a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. It is interdisciplinary from the earliest grades, meaning we train our students to see connections between the various disciplines (e.g. between literature, history and art but also between science, mathematics, and the humanities—how do the ways of thinking in each discipline compare and how are they different?). It is integrative, meaning throughout the program, a Christian world-view—i.e. exploring each subject from a biblical perspective of truth, knowledge and understanding—is brought to bear on the material, and students are challenged to apply that world-view to a variety of disciplines and topics, culminating in their senior thesis and internship project. It builds foundational skills of reading, writing, and computation in the Lower School, allows our students to continue practicing and applying those skills to the major subject areas in the Middle School and finally has students master a wide-ranging curriculum in the Upper School.

So, in summary our program is:

  • Rigorously college-preparatory
  • Intentionally interdisciplinary
  • Thoroughly integrative
Many schools in the area do the first one well; fewer do the second one as intentionally,
and only Christian schools aspire to do the third one.
No school in the area combines all three to the extent and at the level that we do.


We are a candidate for accreditation by Christian Schools International and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and expect final accreditation status by April 2018. We are a licensed and authorized not-for-profit school in the State of Maryland.
