The reason WCA emphasizes service comes directly from scripture. Christ came as the servant king. He modeled the Christian life for us. At every point in Christ’s life he was in service to the will of the Father. The Father’s will was that Christ might be a servant to man so that man might be able to live eternally with Him. Service is a part of the Christian life; therefore, it is a part of Christian life at WCA. Through service, students are given an opportunity to live out their biblical world and life views. The students acquire life skills, better understand their responsibilities as citizens in the community, take and accept new challenges, and apply classroom learning to “real life” learning experiences.
